David Cushnan has covered the global business of sport for a decade, speaking to, writing about and commenting on senior executives from the world of sports sponsorship, sports broadcasting and sports politics. He has reported on all aspects of the industry – everything from sport’s continuing commercialisation and geographical expansion, to the impact of technology on how sport is broadcast and consumed, and professional sport’s increasing intersection with government and society.
As Editor and the Editor-in-Chief of SportsPro between the launch of the magazine in 2008 and May 2015, he hosted and moderated a variety of sports industry conferences around the world, including Soccerex, City Events, the World Travel Market, Doha Goals, the Ivy Sports Symposium, the Black Book Race Forum and two editions of SportsPro Live. He has also hosted private, invitation-only events for several sports industry organisations, and appeared on TalkSport, CNN, Sky News and Bloomberg discussing the business of sport.
He has a particular interest in the business of international motorsport, notably Formula One. He edited the Black Book, an annual business guide to Formula One published by SportsPro, and has written for all ten editions published since 2005.
